    Traditional Thai massage consists of passive stretching movements derived from yoga, joint mobilization, and acupressure.

      \nEffleurage
      \nGentle, light massage parallel to the course of the muscle fibers. The masseur feels tension or hardening.
      \nPetrissage (kneading)
      \nWhen kneading, the muscles are pushed against each other and stretched. It essentially serves to increase blood flow to the muscles and relieve tension.
      \nfriction
      \nWhen rubbing, the masseur makes circular movements with the thumbs and fingertips deep into the muscles. The rubbing serves to undo tactile, hard knots.
      \n\ntapotement (tapping, clapping)
